THE MAN BEHIND THE NAME
The name FOSSATI is a highly recognizable name in the inflatable boat business, and the man behind the name has an outstanding career in business that perfectly
complements his history in the marine sector. Domenico Fossati, who has been in the business of inflatable boats since 1983, has broaden his spectrum and is offering his expertise as a Consultant of Inflatable Boats to international manufacturers who want to enter the American and Caribbean markets.
Fossati’s foundation was formed at Politecnico Di Milano Scientific-Technological University where he graduated in Mechanical Engineering. His engineering career started at MONTEDISON S.p.A. (Milan, Italy) a petrochemical company where he was in charge of mechanical structures. While working for Montedison, he was required to train in Istanbul, Turkey; Brussels, Belgium and Madrid, Spain to study management for commercial and industrial companies abroad. Consequentially, he procured the position of assistant to the director in International Industrial Project Negotiations.
Upon leaving Montedison Domenico Fossati joined PETROCHEMICAL (Milan, Italy). There he was eventually contracted to work in Venezuela as the commercial director for their affiliate company SERIN, a business of Instrumentation and Electrical Systems. While in Venezuela, his career opportunities advanced and he was later scouted by another firm and offered the position as commercial director of SVECA, a company that builds power lines in Latin America. His extensive world travels required him to utilize his polylingual skills communicating in Italian, French, Spanish and English.

International Inflatable Boat Manufacturers
The early corporate opportunities that Domenico Fossati experienced directed him into entrepreneurship. He left the corporate world and in October 1983 solidified a 50/50 partnership with Venezuelan company Caribe Nautuica C.A. manufacturer of rigid hull inflatable boats. In 1989 the American affiliate company Caribe Inflatables USA, INC. that functioned as a full package boat distributorship was established in Homestead, FL. The two partners retained 50/50 ownership of both companies. In 2012, the partnership with Caribe Inflatables USA, Inc was dissolved and Domenico Fossati acquired sole ownership of the distribution company.

Now, after more than 32 years of doing business in the US marine industry, Fossati puts himself at the disposal of international manufacturers to provide firsthand personal service as a consultant in all aspects of business related to RIB and Soft Bottom inflatable boats.
